Late, Late Post!

Happy Wednesday! I'm bringing you a late, late post cause I've been sick on and off for the passed few weeks. So many things have happened, I'm not even sure where to start! Most of December, I was busy moving, checking out craft fairs and prepping for City Of Craft. So this is pretty much the City Of Craft post. First I'd like to thank everyone who came out to support handmade. I forgot my camera on both days so I'll be using the communal photos taken by the talented Celine Kim, most of the photos in this post (all but one, the square one) is by her.

"The Theatre Centre was much more lively this year, but I was in Thrush Holmes Empire"

"Thrush Holmes Empire was also a great space"

"I didn't get a shot of my whole table heres a shot of the top of it."

I don't have it up yet, but I finished a new design just in time for the fair, It may be called "The Crab King". I also hope to get my greeting cards up on Etsy sometime soon. Heres a little snap shot of the new design being printed.

"Crushing mountains, that's what kings do"

Following are some other cool people and some cool photos from the show. First, one of my neighbors was Raymond E. Biesinger, a super chill dude with super art.

Dead Weight is a fav of mine, I always like seeing what shes up to, and i see her at many shows so its not too hard.

Some of you may already have heard of morico on this blog before. They sometime travel me from time to time.

I always had a thing for airmail envelopes, but these ones contain a secret, I wonder what it is. Maybe you can find out at Sweetie Pie Press.

The rest of the photos can be seen here City of Craft 2011 on Flickr or you can also check out other vendors here. Happy New Year and hope everyone gets a good start.

The Renegade Craft Fair, Chicago 2011

Pass weekend was The Renegade Craft Fair, Chicago. This year I finally got to walk around thanks to a friend who came by and helped me out by watching my table for me! The weather was great and there was a good turn out this year. I want to thank everyone who came out and supported handmade.

"why hello there, come buy some shirts"

This was my set up. I think I did pretty well, with the limited amount of stuff I could bring with me to the fair.

"under the tent"

It was sunny all weekend and very hot, I was lucky to get the less hot and shady side. Here are some pictures of other vendors. There were so many that i couldn't really see them all. I also tried to link the websites in the captions.

"The Small Object"

I really enjoy graphics by The Small Object, this bag was in front of their tent, I kind of regret not getting it now.

"Funny felt carrots and burgers"

I'm not too sure who made this but it was really cute and very well made. I'll update later when i find out.

"one Canoe two"

These coaster were really neat, they reminded me of home,

"Soda by Amy"

This beautiful town was made of ceramics by Soda, I enjoy all thing houses.
This was Liz Born and Sanya Glisic's tent. I really enjoy the sign they had, it was really eye catching. I wonder what it was made of.

"Lulu B's tent"
These guys (Lulu B's) were riding around the fair all weekend promoting their wine. They were on a fancy bike with colourful balloons behind them. They were hard to miss.

That is it for all the renegades I'm doing this year. Hopefully I'll be at it again next year. For more photos you can check out my flickr. Up next is Canzine, it'll be on Sunday, October 23. At 918 Bathurst Centre, 918 Bathurst St. from 1 – 7 pm

Otakon 2010

Well, the past weekend was Otakon! and an eventful one at that. One box i shipped didn't quite make it so some designs were not at the show. So make sure you guys check out 1percenttalent for more shirts. There was also that fire alarm that forced everyone at the convention centre to leave.

I somehow made it through, with the help of friends, fellow artist, and of course everyone who picked up something on the table big or small, even if it was a business card i made on the spot, I hope everyone was able to read my website off it!

"luckily I had everything with me to be crafty"

So much to do and so little time, I'll try to keep this blog updated as much as i can, I'm prepping to go to Chicago for the Renegade Craft Fair, I'll have a booth there and it'll be my first craft fair so i'll try my best to be more crafty. If you are in Chicago around sept 11-12, please come find me at wicker park!

Nerds

Well, I started working in a print shop (nothing glamorous) but it will finance my creative adventures, so my updates will come slower than before. :( But I'll keep pushing!! So what is new? New notebooks are now on sale on my etsy shop. Also a new partnership with a small Montreal art gallery/artshop Monastiraki, They will be carrying my tees as soon as I send them there, which i hope is soon.

Nerdy animal notebooks, there are currently 5 of them, but i hope that there will be more. I also hope to print them on other stuff, we'll seee enjoy these for now.

Hand Made Bag

Some more old new, I decided to make my own tote bags just to try it out, I don't have high sewing skills, but i did it anyway. I sold most it the stuff below @ anime north, so until i make new stuff there wont be any more. The fabric used was linen which isn't too cheap, so i will try out newer options. The print i used on it was the elephant king, I was inspired by an Indian Rice bag.

"Raw raw raw ah ah ah... materials"

"The magical tool to put it all together"

"Tada, Thanks to those who picked up the bags"

I did my best, they aren't perfectly made and I hope they hold up to everyday use. These Bag were 100% hand printed and hand made. I had some left over fabric, too little to make a bag of so i made these little draw string pouches, with lino stamps of animals with glasses.
